When booking pre-packaged vacations make sure to check which airline you are flying. A deal might not be so great if you are flying on an airline that charges you to check your bags.

Eg)United charges $25 for your first checked bag so your trip for two would be an extra $100 if flying United.

When using a site such as Expedia; check this out prior to booking

Also, if flying using Air Canada make sure they don't have you check in at United or you are charged to check your bags.

I booked a vacation through Expedia and they showed if using United I would be charged to check my bags. I switched to Air Canada as it showed I would not be charged anything. However, I had to check in through United so I ended up having to pay. Talked to the guy at United and he said Air Canada tells you this, but Expedia didn't tell me. Contacted Expedia...the response...well they wrote some mumble jumble but nothing that had any relevance to me.

To everyone...Do your research...switching airlines could save you money in the long run
