Flying to South America

HI Chris,

I am looking at flying from Edmonton to either Quito, Ecuador or Lima, Peru. I would like to leave around December 28th and return Feb 22is to Vancouver. The prices I am finding for this range from 1,300 to 2,500 and more. What would be a good price for a flight like this? Are there any seat sales going on this time of year to South America from Edmonton?
