This item worked well in Tampa and Orlando. We were able to install the sim prior to the trip (though I don't believe it came with a pin for sim tray ejection, I brought one with me). However, activation had to be done on arrival. Just required calling a number and rebooting the phone. Then no problems with talk, text or data. Did come with the 1GB of LTE data as advertised. I can't recall if we needed to fiddle about with any APN settings, but don't think so. Used an Samsung G Note 8. Happy with the call quality, no dropped calls. Data was dependable, fast enough for streaming HD audio with barely noted lag. No video streamed. Uses the AT&T network. Did not try the free international calling (many countries free). We had also bought a T-Mobile sim with 10GB data which was very finnicky in multiple handsets. Connection was dropping frequently. It was only after our trip we played with APN settings that might have improved the calls. All in all would certainly buy this sim again for the cost and quality at the very least for trip to Florida again. As ATT has the greatest coverage in the US it would probably be fine elsewhere too.

I bought this for a trip down to San Diego and it worked great! The SIM card came in an envelope with instructions on how to activate it (seemed a bit ghetto, if I'm being completely honest). I followed the instructions and had it set to activate a couple days before I left for my trip. I received the activation confirmation (and phone number) around 5am on the date I chose for activation. Once I landed, I popped the SIM in (it has the triple format so you can use it as regular/micro/nano to fit your phone's slot). Note that there was no tool to eject your SIM card tray out so keep that in mind and bring a pin or paper clip with you. I didn't need to change any of my settings on my phone like the activation confirmation had instructions for - the SIM just worked right away. After that the SIM worked great (using T-Mobile network in my case). Sometimes using the data was really slow but that could have been because I was in an extremely busy area in SD and also could have been my phone. The only thing I would note is that I don't think this SIM is actually "unlimited" data. It's 1GB - perhaps after that it is throttled (not sure). Otherwise, I would definitely buy this again for traveling in the US.

Very easy to use. I was afraid it would not work when i arrive to US and then i had reset the APN setting. I activated the chip card 72 hours in advance ( you need to do that at least 24 hours in advance) through the website. As soon as i arrived to my destination in US and replaced my chip card, it stated working with no problem. I had reception from T-mobile, so i assume you phone needs to be a GSM phone and unlocked. it is a good deal and i will buy more in future.

So glad I purchased this before driving to the US. Coverage for calls and data was a little spotty sometimes, but that was mostly when I was driving through mountainous countryside. I was able to make a call for calling CAA/AAA when I got a flat in the countryside, and was able to use data to find my GPS coordinates on Google Maps as I didn't know the address of where I was. That's when I really realized the value of having this SIM. Data speeds were good and after registering, I realized it included 2 gb of data on LTE (not 1 gb) and included unlimited calling to 75+ countries (including Canada). Amazing value! This card saved me from paying $8/day for unlimited roaming with my Canadian carrier.
After crossing the border, I popped in the SIM and stopped at a gas station with wifi to activate it. Took about 5 minutes.
Pro tip: If you don't want to miss calls to your Canadian number when traveling, sign up for a free account with Fongo. Then, forward your Canadian cell number to the Fongo number. Fongo will ring when you are outside of Canada, as long as you're connected to data or wifi. Even if it doesn't ring, it'll go to the Fongo voicemail which you can setup to forward to your email. (Call forwarding may cost you 60 cents per minute or $3 per month - check with your Canadian carrier before using).

The sim card did not work when I followed the instructions to activate it after I arrived DC. No one to answer the phone when I tried to contact The customer service.

Purchased this sim for a trip to Sugarland, Texas. Activation not instantaneous, but straightforward. After requesting activation on website, a followup email was received the day before with the phone number. Upon landing in the US, popped in the sim and WhatsApp worked immediately.
However, the signal is very slow or totally non functional for anything other than simple texting or voice calls. That includes sending images or video, or accessing internet or spotify.
I did notice that the signal seemed to pick up somewhat in some areas more central to Houston, but was spotty.
If you are just needing more than simple messaging and voice, I would look elsewhere.

YOU MUST EMAIL THEM THE SIM CARD # 2-3 DAYS BEFORE YOUR DESIRED ACTIVATION DATE
Used for a trip to USA. Worked very well, much better value than my own roaming plan.

I bought this one for the time between having to give my work phone back and getting a new one at my new job! It has the 23$ plan already on it and you just have to follow the super easy instructions to install it! You can reuse it by putting more money on it and choosing another plan! Service worked well and you also have international phone calls for free which was awesome!! I’d recommend it for everyone looking for a short term SIM card or if you’re willing to pay 23$ a month for it!

They can't activate my SIM because they don't have any phone numbers available to assign in the Montgomery AL area.
Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2018Verified Purchase
Could not activate SIM followed instructions to a "T" no luck. Finally called from another phone and got some one who barely spoke English, She treated me like crap and hung up on me. I called back and got another woman who took me all through the steps I did myself before calling and the first woman had to do, she stated there were no phone numbers available for my Zip code and as she was trying to figure out what to do the call got disconnected. So I call back again and have to go through the whole thing again just to have this woman tell me the same thing, no phone numbers available to assign to my zip code, She ask to give her another zip code, I gave her several more in my state and she could not get a number for any of them. The best she could do is escalate the trouble ticket and tell me to try again in 24 hours. I asked if she could call me back when they got it fix, no they can't, just up to me to try again tomorrow. Really! That's not all we can get Verizon cell service at my home and AT&T but I had to drive to town about 10 miles from home even to get a signal on their network. Their coverage map shows service at my home but there is none so don't trust their coverage map either. I only bought this SIM to test my Verizon phone to see if it was unlocked before I buy a SIM to use in China on a upcoming trip. According to Verizon all of their latter 4G phones are unlocked and this SIM at least proved that my phone can be used with another SIM. It would connect to their network and I got welcome text messages telling me to activate the SIM. So I'm waiting to see if they will work out their bugs and activate it and assign a number. Forget about using their web site to activate the SIM, you can't do that either unless you have a phone number assigned which you can't get until they activate the SIM, Really!
