Hi everyone!
My husband and I will be traveling to London for the first time with our two little boys (2 yr old and 8 months) in May. We will be there for about 10 days. Any recommendations on where/what we should go or see? I was thinking if we had time we could go to Disneyland in Paris.

we took our almost 5 yr old to London and Paris in dec. Hits: chasing pigeons in trafalgar square, Paddington station, Hamleys Toy store, ( it was cold so we did indoor stuff). Paris disney was great, too. We plan on going back. paris itself is just packed with lots of kids playgrounds ( one just outside de Halles metro is incredible, and one near the Louvre is also pretty cool.

Natural History Museum is nice, I think they have some activities for children. Hamleys toy store is always a favourite with kids!
Paris is only 2 hours away by Eurostar, so definitely worth checking out!

The Peter Pan playground in Kensington garden was a huge hit with my kids (then 1 and 4). Hamleys is fun. The national gallery was a disaster (what were we thinking?? lol)

Also taking a clipper to Greenwich to see Cutty Sark is fun for kids and adults

Consider taking a tour boat up the Thames. You can see a lot in a short time. They make stops along the way, so you can get off and explore. Also this gets you out of the hustle & bustle of the city.

Science museum has a fantastic kids area; picnic in any of the beautiful parks, aquarium was great, if you rent a car, Stonehenge is cool. Also, going to Windsor was lovely.
You’ll have a wonderful time there! Enjoy!

Highly recommend Camden Market and the Sunday market in Notting Hill while you’re there. Such good food and the Sunday market in Notting Hill is where you will find all of the colourful houses

Family-Friendly Adventures in London and Paris

Hi there! Traveling with little ones can be both exciting and challenging, but with a bit of planning, you can create lasting memories for your family. Here are some recommendations for your upcoming trip to London and a potential side trip to Paris.

London

  • Buckingham Palace: No trip to London is complete without witnessing the iconic Changing of the Guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace. Your little ones will be mesmerized by the pomp and pageantry.
  • Natural History Museum: This museum is a wonderland for children with its awe-inspiring dinosaur skeletons, interactive exhibits, and educational displays. Don't miss the Dinosaur Gallery and the Blue Whale exhibit.
  • Hyde Park: Pack a picnic and spend a relaxing afternoon at Hyde Park. Let your kids run and play on the sprawling green spaces, and consider renting a boat for a leisurely row on the Serpentine.
  • London Eye: Take in breathtaking views of the city from the iconic London Eye Ferris wheel. The capsules are spacious and offer a unique perspective of London's skyline.

Paris (Disneyland Paris)

If you have the time, a day trip or an overnight stay at Disneyland Paris can be a magical experience for your family. Here are a few tips:

  • Stay on-site: Consider staying at one of the Disneyland Paris hotels to make the most of your time and avoid commuting. The hotels are themed and offer early park access and other perks.
  • Ride the classics: Don't miss the iconic rides like Peter Pan's Flight, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and It's a Small World. These classic Disney rides are perfect for young children.
  • Meet the characters: Schedule character meet-and-greets so your little ones can get up close with their favorite Disney friends. Check the park schedule and plan accordingly.
  • Consider a dining package: Look into dining packages that include character meet-and-greets or reserved seating for shows, as these can save time and hassle during your visit.

No matter where you go, remember to pack snacks, extra clothing, and plenty of patience. Traveling with young children can be tiring, but these experiences will create lasting memories for your family. Have a wonderful trip!
