Love this resort. Stay on the older side as the beach is nicer and the swim up rooms get the most sun. The newer side doesn't have a nice beach at all and the swim up rooms are shaded somewhat. The older side is mostly Canadians while the newer side is mostly Americans.

Check out the Barcelo Maya Riviera in the Riviera Maya. Gorgeous brand new adults only resort and the property is shared with 5 others so there are tons of restaurants and so much to do!

No offensive, but I’ve been to resorts where you can swim up right to the room and both my husband and I thought it was# gross. The one time there was about 15 people gathered in front of their suite smoking and drinking in the water (saw it numerous times). We talked to the people int the next room and they said they hadn’t been able to enjoy the water outside their room at all as there was a constant party going on next door.

I've been to El Dorado adults only when they first opened and loved the swim up suite. They also had amazing gourmet food. Non buffet style.
If I had no kids I'd do Secrets.

The excellence resorts are top notch! You can choose from a bunch of different rooms and suits and some with swim up, but it’s still a private area in front of your suit! Food was so amazing we were at the one near Playa Del Carmen!
