Urban Boutique in Little Italy was fantastic! Rooms are small and basic, but it's really cute. Continental breakfast was great, and the location is perfect. Walking distance to water, Gaslamp district..shopping, tonnes of restaurants and cafes. Best part..around $100/night.

Google ‘The Dana’. We had an amazing week staying there. Walk out to the water, watch the paddle wheeler go by you, watch all the fire pit lit every night. All from The Dana, right on the water. And morning kayaking you can join.

Best Western Plus - Bayside Inn on Ash Street. Very short walk to the water, Little Italy, downtown and the train to other sights. Not posh, but clean and very reasonable.

whatever hotel you find be prepared to pay "reosrt fees" which I paidabout $30 usd a night. as well as parking if you are driving which are about $40 usd a night.. Just got back a week ago. these prices are not included in the intial price you find online.

We didn’t have to pay resort fees when we went in September. We did have to pay for parking at the hotel we stayed at that was right in San Diego by the water.

No resort fees and complementary parking at Bahia in San Diego on mission bay. Also you get a free ferry cruise

We stayed at the Best Western on Mission Beach. I think it was called Blue Sea but I think it’s name has changed. It was nice.

We stayed here - wonderful place, great host, and 2 separate suites. We lucked out and didn't have to share the pool, etc. Loved it! https://www.vrbo.com/588032
