We just did 12 countries with 2 kids. Here are my opinions (age will definitely affect)
Best countries with kids: Vienna, Austria was amazing and had fun things like Time Travel Vienna.
My kids loved Venice, Florence and Rome Italy. We took a kid friendly cooking class in Florence and my kids were stunned by the Colosseum as well as the Pantheon next door. We LOVED Stockholm, Sweden. It was gorgeous, clean, vibrant. We enjoyed visiting Skansen as well as the Viking museum and ABBA Museum.
We didn't enjoy Brussels, Belgium, Amsterdam Netherlands or Copenhagen Denmark as much.

We’ve done Paris (the Disney there with kids is good) and Italy is a fantastic country to explore with kids. It really depends on your budget and what you want out of it. If they are young, museums, basilicas and art galleries probably won’t be their thing.

Really depends on what your interests are and what your budget is

Italy. Everyone has something they want to see there. Places like Vienna are cool, but do you know anything about St. Steven’s? Or the Opera House? I bet not, but you likely know something about the Colosseum and St Peters as well as many other places in Rome.

Just came back from Scotland (Edinburgh, Inverness, Isle of Skye and Glasgow). There is direct flight from Calgary to Edinburgh. You can start your flight journey in Edmonton but the layovers between Edmonton to Calgary can be relatively long so it might be worth it to drive to Calgary if you don’t like waiting. As for things to do there are number of very well curated and interactive free museums and parks and botanic garden in Edinburgh as well as awesome free transportation museum in Glasgow. In addition, there are cool historic building and castles galore. The public transportation system is excellent with choices of train, tram, bus and subway that will take you around the cities as well from city to city. Although, we actually did a lot of walking especially in Edinburgh because it is very walkable city. Most eateries usually will have a fair priced separate kids menu. As well, if cities are not your thing, there is tonnes of hiking and nature and related things you can do in the highlands. The scenery is so stunning.
