Heading to Italy in a few weeks and looking for recommendations for Amalfi Coast activities and/or dining.
We have three days in Positano, and then heading to Capri for 2 days. We are going to hike Path of the Gods, and visit the Blue Grotto while in Capri. We will also be visiting Pompeii on our way back to Rome, but just wondering if anyone had an suggestions on other great hikes or active activities in the Amalfi area.
Thanks so much!

Highly recommend taking a guided tour in Pompei. Not the same as going on your own.

If you are wanting a more formal dinner try Zass restaurant in the San Pietro hotel in Positano, it’s a Michelin star restaurant that we kind of stumbled upon accidentally and it was incredible!!

Have lunch at Da Adolfo in Positano, it’s a beach restaurant with a free boat shuttle to a private beach where the restaurant is located (look for the boat marked with a red fish) we went specifically for the mozzarella grilled on lemon leaves.

Pompeii should not be missed. Path of the Gods walking tour was spectacular. That way you can take the 1000 steps down to Positano. Capri was so so. Kasai restaurant in Praiano was amazing. Marina di Praia beach was quieter than Positano beach.

If you are doing pompei you should skip down the road to Pastum. Amazing ruins that you won't see elsewhere

Take the boat from Capri over to Ischia. It's superior to Capri. My favorite town there is S'Angelo. You won't regret it. There's also a smaller coliseum ruins close to Pompeii that are worth getting to.

Eicart thank you for these suggestions we are going to be in Ischia next month. We have been to Capri and looking forward to discovering this lesser known gem

Karen you can get around the island on the public bus pretty easily and cheaply. If you get to S'Angelo, there is a great little cafe that looks out to the water over the beach clubs. I loved it earlier in the morning before the beach got busy. There's also a pizza/Italian restaurant as you get into the town (this will make sense as you arrive.. trust me). They'll make you feel like family. If you're up to more adventure, head down the "heel of the boot" to Gallipoli. Samsara Beach Club on Sundays!! Italians devote their Sundays to family. Pack food or order through the service while you're there. People start to arrive before 8am and often leave late the evening. Cobblestone streets in some areas that will take you back in time. I have friends that own restaurants there. If you add it to your list, I'll give you some suggestions for eating

Eicart Thank you! We are only on Capri for a short time. We have accommodations booked for two nights. We will be arriving on May 14-16, but is Ischia possible as a day trip and back from Capri? Or too much?

Ashley Marie Crocker it's possible depending on the days you're there. Ferry schedules are not consistent day to day

Exploring the Amalfi Coast: Recommendations for Activities and Dining

Heading to Italy in a few weeks and looking for recommendations for Amalfi Coast activities and/or dining? You've come to the right place! Here are some suggestions for your upcoming trip:

Positano

During your three days in Positano, be sure to take in the stunning views from the beach, explore the charming streets lined with colorful buildings, and indulge in delicious Italian cuisine. For dining, we recommend trying Ristorante Saraceno d'Oro for traditional Italian dishes with a modern twist.

Capri

While in Capri for two days, don't miss the opportunity to hike the famous Path of the Gods for breathtaking views of the coastline. Be sure to also visit the Blue Grotto for a unique experience exploring the sea cave. For dining, check out Da Paolino for a memorable meal under lemon trees.

Other Activities

If you're looking for more active activities in the Amalfi area, consider hiking the Valle delle Ferriere for lush scenery and waterfalls, or exploring the charming town of Ravello for its beautiful gardens and historic villas.

Pompeii

On your way back to Rome, make a stop at Pompeii to explore the ancient ruins of this historic city buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. It's a fascinating and educational experience that shouldn't be missed.

With so much to see and do in the Amalfi Coast, you're sure to have a memorable and enjoyable trip. Bon voyage!
