Cambodia is awesome, but you could add another country and still have time to get a decent feel for it. No less than 2 weeks in a country, other than Singapore that takes 3 days tops. Suggestions: Pack light. Rent a scooter in the small towns so you can really explore. Take tuktuks or motorcycle taxis in the cities cause the traffic is insane if you aren't accustomed to it. Where you go depends on what you want to do or enjoy! Koh Rong is amazing if you like beaches and laidback parties. Go to the Killing Fields in Phnom Penh and don't be ashamed to weep opening. Don't support anything that exploits animals... Which is basically everything involving animals. Exception: The Mondulkiri Project in Sam Monorom retires the working elephants from the villages and takes wonderful care of them. Highly recommended.

Langkawi and Penang Malaysia. It is less expensive to fly in and out of KUL as oppose to SIN. I never warmed up to Thailand. Love Bali, Indonesia.

We went to Siem Reap last year. Angkor Wat is definitely worth checking out and it was cheap there. Thanks Chris for mentioning responsible tourism! Please do not ride elephants. Go to a sanctuary if you want to see them up close. We went to an excellent sanctuary in Hua Hin - a couple of hours away from Bangkok,Thailand http://www.wfft.org/ There is also an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai that is supposed to be really good. Sorry, no advice on the other countries, we only went to Japan, Bangkok and Siem Reap.

I'm going to Cambodia for 2 weeks at the end of July. I want to extend my trip for a couple weeks and your around Southeast Asia. Thailand is a must and then I've been debating between Malaysia, Singapore, and Philippines. Any suggestions or must sees in those countries? Any flight suggestions? Travel tips? Which country would you suggest? How much time should I spend in each place to get a good feel? So many questions!! Thanks in advance ?
