We just came back from a September cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii. The first full sea day was a bit rough but there was a storm north of us. We had a total of 10 sea days and they were great aside from periods of rain. Make sure you take some warmer clothes. I wore sweats and a sweatshirt 3 of the 10 sea days and it was quite windy some days and when the sun goes down, it is chilly in the middle of the ocean!

I would think it could get rough, with it being hurricane season and all. Hawaii was pounded this year. Can you change it to before August or after November when the season is over?

It's a Disney cruise and the only one they offer is in September

Do you have motion sickness problems? We were just on a cruise in Caribbean and the waters were rougher than I had previously experienced - I don't get sea sick so the only thing to worry about was getting used to the rocking - after the first day it was okay

3 days at sea when we did the Caribbean was enough for me and in calm waters, I can't imagine doing 5 days. We where so happy to see land when we hit Aruba!

We cruised from Los Angeles to Hawaii in the month of January. I packed summer clothes buy was buying sweatpants when we got to Hawaii. It was definitely way different that the Carribean. The water was very rough and I am not sure if it was time of year or a particular storm system. You've got to love the cruise experience to spend 5 days in a stretch at sea. I don't think I would do it again. Not even birds could fly out that far....nothing to see.

I did a repositioning cruise from Hawaii to Vancouver in the spring, 1 night of rough water, weather got colder the further north we came, be nice to remove layers instead of adding layers

Ok let me put your mind at ease, the north Pacific current flows toward the west coast of north America as do the prevailing winds. the ship will be traveling directly into and out of the winds and sea therefor the ships motion will be light and should never get above moderate.
In fact after 5 days at sea I almost guarantee any sea sickness you may have had will be gone.
I recommend http://www.transdermscop.com/ patches than can be used for 6 days in a row they are a magical drug for most people.
This is one of our favorite cruises and the islands are amazing

If the ship sinks isn't it harder to get out if you're on the lowest level ?

Mike

Because cruise ships sink so often...
Just make sure the captain is not from Italy
Pro tip, The lifeboat access is on the 7th or 8th floor. Passenger cabins are almost always above that floor.

We have done this cruise in Sept and it was no rougher than any other cruise we have been on. Totally loved the sea days as there was no where to go.....just sit back relax and enjoy the ship!

Just watch out for rogue icebergs. They are scary near Hawaii.

If you have booked a cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii in September 2015 and are worried about rough waters during the 5 straight days at sea, you are not alone. Many people have concerns about sea conditions when embarking on a cruise, especially during long stretches of open water.

Fortunately, the waters between Vancouver and Hawaii are generally calm during the month of September. The summer months are typically the best time to cruise to Hawaii, as the weather is warm and the seas are relatively calm. September is towards the end of the peak season, so you can expect pleasant weather and smooth sailing for most of your journey.

Of course, it is always possible to encounter rough waters or storms at sea, regardless of the time of year. However, cruise ships are equipped to handle a variety of sea conditions and have experienced captains and crew members who prioritize passenger safety above all else.
