Ever Considered Taking Trains in Morocco? Here's What You Need to Know

Question:

Portugal - Spain -Morocco
We took advantage of the Van-Lisbon sale.
We are thinking of travelling south, eventually to Seville, Gibraltar & Tangier.
Has anyone taken trains in Morocco, maybe an overnight to Casablanca and on to Marrakech? Any advice for the ferry or flights to/from Morocco.

I have three times! It's a fantastic experience. You can take a ship from La Linea to Tangier and then get a night train to Marrakech via Casablanca. I recommend getting a sleeping birth. You can't buy the tickets on-line via a site for the train but I have a very reliable contact(travel agent in Tangier) who you can email and purchase tickets from. If you can, stay a night or two in Tangier...its a fascinating city! Do you have a place to stay in Marrakech? If not, I recommend Riad Karmela.

We recently took advantage of the Van-Lisbon sale and are thinking of travelling south to Seville, Gibraltar, and Tangier. We are considering taking trains in Morocco, possibly an overnight to Casablanca and on to Marrakech. We are also looking for advice on the ferry or flights to/from Morocco.

Over the past little while, I've had a lot of people ask me about a deal they've seen pop up on a variety of those 'daily deal' type sites (you know the ones, the Groupon-esque clones that were all the rage last year, and initially had some legitimately great deals but have now all turned into a wasteland of spa treatments and massages you can never get an appointment for).
