Monica
we used airalo, I Italy, France and Spain, bought the European plan. Didn’t have phone, just data but worked very well, was easy to setup (did at the airport before we boarded).

Went to Europe this summer and bought a simcard in advance from Amazon. Completely worth it!
Eric
Yes. Literally everwhere on Earth you travel it's worth buying a SIM card there over using your Canadian number. We get absolutely hosed by Can telecoms here.
Sue
Yes. Just spent time in Greece and purchased a SIM card in country. Totally worth it vs cost through your cell phone carrier.

We used a Three (thats the brand) sim card all over the UK, Scandinavia and France and had excellent service and coverage the whole time. We bought it in Heathrow from a convenience store but i think you can order them online in advance. Only hiccup i have had was trying to top it up. The company can't take international credit cards (wants a UK postal code for the visa) so you have to buy a voucher on www.recharge.com and then use that voucher online or in the app to buy your top up. Easy when you know, frustrating when you don't!

Katelyn , I have a question about activating the Three SIM. I ordered one. But I read that you have to call for activation. How long does it take? Is it relatively painless to do?
Katelyn
Wanda Hi! Yes the staff were very helpful when I called. I had to use a third party website to buy the credits to recharge the card (because i had a Canadian credit card and their system needed a UK postal code to verify) but it was super easy once they explained it.

It is worth it. It is so cheap and so easy to do. I dont reccomend doing it at the airport it can be up to double the price. At the airport we paid 30 euros which still is a great price but out of the airport we bought at Voda phone in Italy and it was 17 euros for a better plan.

I bought one in Paris, it was so worth it, though I didn't find them as easy to find as people told me they would be. If I go to Europe again, I'll check out pre-purchasing on Amazon.

We used Giff Gaff. They will mail one to you here so you can set it up before you leave and just have to pop the card in when you arrive. Best rates we saw. https://www.giffgaff.com/sim-only-deals

I purchased this sim card: https://www.windtre.it/offerte-estero-da.../tourist-pass-en/
It worked great in Italy, Greece (including the islands) and Malta. It doesn't have a lot of minutes but we just used whatsapp to make calls. It says 15 euros but it's 25 euros the first time you use it because you have to purchase the sim card too.

Should You Get a Europe SIM Card for Your Phone?
Traveling to Europe can be an exciting adventure, but it's important to stay connected with loved ones back home and have access to maps, translation apps, and other essential services while you're abroad. One option to consider is purchasing a Europe SIM card for your phone. In this blog post, we'll explore the pros and cons of this approach and whether simcorner is a good choice.
Benefits of Using a Europe SIM Card
- Avoid Expensive Roaming Charges: Using your regular SIM card from your home country can result in exorbitant roaming fees, especially for data usage. A local SIM card can help you avoid these charges and stay connected at a fraction of the cost.
- Access to Local Rates: With a local SIM card, you'll enjoy the same rates as local residents for calls, texts, and data within the country or region you're visiting.
- Reliable Connectivity: Local carriers often have better coverage and faster data speeds in their home countries compared to international roaming services.
Considerations When Purchasing a Europe SIM Card
- Compatibility: Ensure that your phone is unlocked and compatible with the frequencies used by the carrier you choose. Many modern smartphones are designed to work globally, but it's always best to double-check.
- Data Allowance: Carefully evaluate your data needs and choose a plan that aligns with your usage patterns. Overage charges can quickly add up if you exceed your data allowance.
- Coverage Area: If you're planning to visit multiple countries within Europe, consider a SIM card that offers roaming or data packages across multiple countries. This can save you from having to purchase a new SIM card in each country you visit.
simcorner: A Reliable Option for Europe SIM Cards
simcorner is a reputable online retailer that specializes in selling prepaid SIM cards for international travelers. They offer a wide range of SIM card options for various European countries, including data-only and combination voice/data plans.
One of the advantages of using simcorner is the convenience of ordering your SIM card online and having it delivered to your home before your trip. This eliminates the hassle of searching for a local store or carrier upon arrival in Europe. Additionally, simcorner provides clear information about each SIM card's coverage, data allowance, and pricing, making it easy to choose the right option for your needs.
However, it's always a good idea to compare prices and offerings from other providers to ensure you're getting the best deal for your specific travel plans.
Final Thoughts
Getting a Europe SIM card can be a cost-effective and convenient solution for staying connected during your travels. It can save you from excessive roaming charges and provide reliable connectivity at local rates. While simcorner is a reputable option, be sure to research and compare different providers to find the best fit for your needs and travel itinerary.
Remember to unlock your phone before your trip and ensure compatibility with the local networks. With a little preparation, you can enjoy seamless connectivity throughout your European adventure.
