I did London alone. You can go to lots of places. You just need to watch out while you are gone. There are lots of places where guys get taken advantage of as well as they can tell you are a tourist.
Theresa
I liked Belize

Caye Caulker or Ambergris Caye, Belize. Not Belize city!!

Still closed. They're looking at opening for fully vaxxed people in the new year, but closed up tight right now.

Allison December and January is their summer; flights are almost double than other times. We went to NZ February 12-March 12/18. February 1st is their 1st day of Fall.
We had beautiful, sunny weather except arriving @ Cyclone Gita! And leaving another Cyclone. The flights were half the price of January. The crowds weren’t there! We love, love, loved our month there and definitely will return
. They are wonderful, fun and kind people! Best sense of humour in the world

I'm a kiwi and trying to get home to visit family. Last time I looked, flights were around $3500 and 30 hours. And then you have to have a confirmed spot, which is $5500, for your two week supervised isolation. I believe right now MIQ is sold out until next April. So yeah, unless a lot changes, neither myself or any tourists are going to be visiting any time soon
I do agree with you though - March/fall is the best time to be there. I wish ...

Bali was amazing! Also went solo to Holguin Cuba either is well worth it and safe to do alone
Kayla
I would say the only places I'd avoid as a solo female traveler is the middle east and most of Africa. Being a blonde woman I attracted a lot of attention both in Africa and the middle east. I was glad I was with my husband! I've been too all the continents and many different countries and would feel safe in every place I've been minus Africa and I've middle east
Red
Kayla which middle east country were you in ? Thanks, susan

Australia is a fabulous place to go solo. Hopefully they will be open soon to international travel. Right now I think Sydney is open to Australians coming home from abroad, not sure if it's open to all travellers.
Jo
Taiwan is easily one of the safest places! And beautiful, friendly, delicious food, and not too expensive
Miguel
Jo take me to Taiwan!

Jason Taipei is mainland China; and is much different than Taiwan. You need a special visa to be @ Taipei more than 12 hours. I found out flying to Bali….
Kanan
Asia is better
Melanie
Wherever you choose just do your research. I've trav6qll over the world alone: asia, south america, central america, europe and two countries in africa. Never had an issue as long as you plan well and know your surroundings. Best trips were 2 in Africa and 2 in South America
Megan

Escape the Winter Blues: Safe Solo Female Travel Destinations
Hello fellow solo female traveler! It's great you're looking to escape the winter this December. Since you've already explored Europe, I'll suggest a few destinations outside that continent known for being relatively safe and offering unique experiences.
Southeast Asia
Southeast Asia is a popular choice for solo female travelers due to its affordability, delicious food, vibrant culture, and generally safe environment. Here are a few ideas:
- Thailand: Chiang Mai is excellent for cultural immersion, cooking classes, and ethical elephant encounters. The islands in the south (Koh Lanta, Koh Tao) offer beautiful beaches and a relaxed atmosphere.
- Vietnam: Hoi An is a charming ancient town with tailor shops and delicious street food. Explore Ha Long Bay's stunning scenery or visit bustling Ho Chi Minh City.
- Singapore: A modern and incredibly safe city-state, Singapore offers a blend of cultures, amazing food, and beautiful gardens.
Central America
For a closer-to-home escape, Central America offers beautiful landscapes, ancient ruins, and a chance to improve your Spanish.
- Costa Rica: Known for its eco-tourism, Costa Rica has incredible wildlife, rainforests, and beaches. Consider visiting La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano or Monteverde cloud forest.
- Belize: Explore Mayan ruins, dive the world's second-largest barrier reef, or relax on the beaches of Caye Caulker. English is widely spoken here.
South America
While requiring a bit more planning and awareness, certain areas of South America are becoming increasingly popular with solo female travelers.
- Medellin, Colombia: Once considered dangerous, Medellin has transformed into a vibrant city with a welcoming atmosphere. Consider taking a walking tour or exploring the surrounding coffee region.
Tips for Safe Solo Female Travel:
- Research your destination: Look up safety tips specific to the region and familiarize yourself with local customs.
- Share your itinerary: Let someone at home know your plans and check in regularly.
- Stay in well-reviewed accommodation: Look for hostels or hotels with good security and positive reviews from other solo travelers.
- Be aware of your surroundings: Avoid walking alone at night in poorly lit areas, and trust your instincts.
- Connect with other travelers: Join group tours or stay in hostels to meet like-minded people.
Remember, the key to safe solo travel is planning and being aware. Enjoy your winter escape!

Hello and thanks in advance! I am hoping to get some suggestions or discuss with a fellow solo (female) traveller. Looking for ideas of “safe” places to go to escape winter this December! I have done a fair bit of solo travelling but mainly in Europe. Any suggestions welcome!
